Texas Mule

Beer? Good. Vodka? Great. Grapefruit and mint? Perfect. This fun, refreshing play on a Moscow mule can be enjoyed anytime of the year. For those who are unaware, grapefruit is the state fruit of Texas. Thus, it seemed only appropriate that this version was named after the Lone Star State. I love to sip on this while I prepare a spread of appetizers and finger-foods while watching some Sunday football.

Makes 1

INGREDIENTS:

1 bottle, grapefruit Shandy beer (*LeinenkugelĀ Grapefruit or Shiner Ruby Red)
2 oz vodka
2-3 mint leaves, extra for garnish
1-2 slices Texas grapefruit for garnish

*Brand preference

TO MIX:

In a copper mug, muddle 2-3 mint leaves with 2 ice cubes.

Fill mug with ice.

Pour in vodka, then top with beer.

Garnish with mint leaves and grapefruit.
