Lubbock Chilton

This is a West Texas gem. Most bars or restaurants I’ve been to in Houston, Austin, or other neighboring cities, have never heard of this refreshing cocktail. Good thing lemons and club soda are a staple in my home. And since Houston temperatures stay over 75 degrees for 9 out of 12 months, I can enjoy this recipe anytime of the year.

Whip this cocktail up while preparing these Texas-style recipes.

Makes 1 serving

2 oz vodka
2 lemons- 1 juiced, 1 sliced to garnish
margarita salt
club soda

Take 1 lemon wedge and run it around the rim of a rocks glass.

Then press the glass into margarita salt.

Fill glass with ice

In a shaker tin, fill half way with ice. Pour in lemon juice and vodka. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Strain and pour into pint glass.

Top with club soda, garnish with lemons.

*SIDE NOTE: This cocktail is usually served in a tall pint glass, but I like to get to the point.
